Insurance
If your student is covered under the OSU Student Health Insurance Plan or WilceCare Supplement, their claims will be processed automatically according to the benefits to which they are entitled under their plan. For benefit details, please visit the OSU Student Health Insurance website. Co-pay and co-insurance amounts for eye exams, dental visits, nutrition visits, and prescriptions are due at the time of service.
If your student is insured under a plan other than the OSU Student Health Insurance Plan or WilceCare, we encourage you to explore healthcare options for your student before the need arises. Currently, Student Health Services is in-network for the OSU Student Health Insurance Program, NGS/Prime Care (OSU Faculty Staff Plans) and Medical Mutual of Ohio. Student Health Services is out-of-network for all other insurance plans. You should ask your insurance company if your plan includes out-of-network benefits. When speaking with your insurance company, it is helpful to give them our tax ID number, 31-1657245, to differentiate our practice from other physician groups and medical facilities associated with The Ohio State University. This information will aid your insurance company in providing correct benefit information.
If you would like us to bill your medical insurance company directly, your student will need to stop by the Patient Relations Department on the 3rd floor to register their medical insurance. They should do so on or before the day of your appointment. We will make a copy of their insurance ID card and have them sign a medical information release form which will enable us to bill their insurance company for the next year. They will need to renew their release each year or sooner if there are changes in their insurance information.
Make sure your student carries an insurance ID card at all times. If you are unable to obtain an insurance ID card for your student from your human resources department or insurance agent, please make a copy of the front and back of your insurance ID card for your student to carry.
If your insurance carrier does not send payment to the Wilce Student Health Center within 60 days from the date of service, the full amount due is transferred to patient responsibility.
The Wilce Student Health Center does participate with many pharmaceutical plans. Consult our pharmacy at (614) 292-0125 for a complete list and determination of your eligibility. Co-pay amounts are due at the time of service.
