I'm sick, what now?
If you are experiencing:
- fever and/or body aches - use an over-the-counter fever reducer/pain reliever such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen
- vomiting - have clear liquids/re-hydration fluids on hand such as Gatorade, Sprite, Gingerale, popsicles, Jell-O. Consume small amounts at a time such as sips or tablespoons until you are able to tolerate larger amounts.
- cough and/or sore throat - cough drops, throat lozenges, over-the-counter medicine
It's serious when:
- fever is 103 or above
- severe headache
- delirium
- inability to keep liquids down
- difficulty breathing
- you are pregnant, asthmatic, immune suppressed, or under 5 years of age and have flu symptoms
These are rare symptoms and may be signs of complication or another disease. Please seek immediate medical attention.
