Get Moving and Learn Latin American Dance at the RPAC Sunday!
Posted: May 20, 2010
This Sunday (May, 23) the Department of Recreational Sports will be hosting a FREE interactive workshop on Latin American dance.
Please join us in the South Gym at the RPAC from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Learn the origins of Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Bomba, Samba, and others - then try them out for yourself!! No Rec Sports membership is required to attend. Come dressed to move!
Who can attend?
Anyone! If you are not a Rec Sports member, you will just need to stop by the Welcome Center beforehand and let them know that you are there to attend the Latin American workshop in the South Gym.
I have a young child but I would still like to come
Perfect! Our child watch (babysitting room) is open until 5 p.m. on Sunday and will watch children from ages 2 months to 12 years of age. The cost is $2.50/hour for members and $3.50/hour for guests. Stop by the Welcome Center for payment of this service.
Do I have to wear specific shoes?
Kind of. You must wear closed toe shoes that will not mark the floor. If your shoes are not appropriate, you will not be able to participate - we recommend bringing some athletic shoes as a backup.
The RPAC looks great - can I come back to try it (or any of the other indoor facilities) out?
You bet! Ask a Fitness staff member at the workshop and they would be happy to give you a free day guest-pass for any indoor facility.
