Do I have to get immunizations to attend Ohio State?

Q: Am I required to get immunizations to attend Ohio State?
A: While certain groups of students - like health professional students or international students - have extensive immunization requirements, Ohio State does not require every enrolled student to be vaccinated in order to attend the university.
We certainly recommend certain immunizations, and encourage all students to discuss their need for immunizations with their health care provider before starting classes or moving to campus.
For students living in University housing, you will be asked to sign a "Vaccination Status Statement" as part of your housing contract. You will be asked to acknowledge the following:
- You have received the meningococcal and Hepatitis B vaccinations and if so when; or
- You plan to receive the meningococcal and Hepatitis B vaccinations prior to attending the Ohio State University; or
- You reviewed the information on a website listed earlier in the contract and you have chosen not to receive the vaccinations.
So the Meningitis and Hepatitis B vaccines aren't required, but obviously someone around here thinks they're a good idea.
